The 2018 model year was a historic year for introducing the Challenger SRT Demon, the first endurance race car in decades. Based on the advanced LX rear-wheel-drive platform and legendary HEMI engine, the Dodge Challenger Concept features a long hood, short platform, wide stance, and two-door coupe body style reminiscent of the iconic Challenger of the 1920s. Dodge engineers reduced the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon's curb weight to 1,922 kg (4,237 lb) and the SRT Hellcat's 2,027 kg (4,469 lb), a difference of 105 kg (231 lb). Dodge developed a dual intake system for the Challenger SRT Hellcat. Since the Dodge Challenger Hellcat has two cooling systems, the primary system keeps the engine cool, while the secondary system helps cool the intake manifold.
