WHAT IS GAA ASTHMA APP?
Greater Austin Allergy (GAA) Asthma is an app for current patients of the Greater Austin Allergy Clinic. This app lets you access your protected health information and gives your doctor better insight into the ups and downs of living with asthma.
Whether you’re newly diagnosed, or your asthma is severe or uncontrolled, this app gives you the tools and education to manage your asthma and make shared decisions with your doctor. The app works best with continued, daily use so that your doctor can make the best health decisions for you.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Daily log:
Each day, you can complete your daily log where you’ll record things like symptoms, triggers, medication use, ER and urgent care visits, and air flow measurements (if available).
This daily log will be automatically shared with your doctor, so they know how you are doing between appointments.
Completing your log each day gives your doctor valuable information about you and your asthma.

Trends:
We’ll show you which days you completed a log and which days you missed. Getting into the habit of completing a log each day will help your doctor understand how your asthma condition changes over time.

Education:
Just diagnosed with asthma? Don’t understand proper inhaler technique? The app provides in-depth articles and instruction about these topics and more. Understanding your asthma can help with overall control.

Medications and reminders:
Stay up to date with the medicines your doctor prescribed to you. You can also set up as many reminders as you need for each medication. You also have access to in-depth information about each medicine, your preferred pharmacy, the prescribing doctor, and the ability to report adverse events.

Appointments:
You’ll always know when your next appointment is at Greater Austin Allergy with a list of your appointments - right from the app. You can even schedule appointments with your doctor online.

Quality of Life surveys:
About once a month, the app will send you a short survey with questions about your asthma. Your answers to the survey will be shared with your doctor so they can even better understand whether there are any changes in your asthma control.

Message your care team:
Have a question about a symptom or how to use a medication? You can always send a secure message to your care team at Greater Austin Allergy at any time of the day. Messages are not monitored in real time but are still regularly reviewed.

Air quality:
Know the current breathing conditions for your location plus common allergens such as trees, grass, and ragweed. You can also search for any location in the world - great for planning ahead!
