The description of isOnline Hangouts?
Know if a contact is online from PC, from mobile or offline.
With the old XMPP connection it's still possible to know if someone is online and what app he's using with this combinations:

How to find someone on Google Hangouts on a computer
- Open hangouts.google.com on your PC or Mac.
- Click on the contacts icon, which is a pair of cartoonish silhouettes on the left side of the screen.
- Then click on "New conversation" and enter the name or email of the contact you want to find into the search bar.
