KenFM ist ein medialer Mülltrenner und bietet seinen Usern, Zuschauern und Lesern neben tagesaktuellen Interviews, eigenen politischen Statements und der Veröffentlichung von Beiträgen zahlreicher Gastautoren, aufwendig produzierte Spezialsendungen.

Darunter ist seit 2015 ein Gesprächsformat, das die klassische politische Talkshow des deutschen Fernsehens durch innovative Ergänzungen abzulösen, zumindest aber wesentlich zu erweitern vermag: „Positionen – Politik verstehen“. Das Format trägt die Zielsetzung bereits im Namen. Das Verstehen politischer Prozesse steht stets im Fokus der Debatte. Keine Aneinanderreihung verkürzter Statements zum Zwecke der Platzierung marketingorientierter oder parteipolitischer Inhalte. Zuschauer werden stattdessen eingeladen, komplexe Ereignisse mit Hilfe der Kompetenz und Erfahrung der Gäste in einen verständlichen umfassenden Zusammenhang einzuordnen.

So ist es bei KenFM generell eine Selbstverständlichkeit, dass Gesprächsteilnehmer, Interviewpartner und Gastautoren aus Politik, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und dem ganz normalen Leben in aller Ausführlichkeit zu Wort kommen, um ihre Perspektive zu speziellen Geschehnissen dem Publikum entsprechend nachvollziehbar darlegen zu können.

Das kritische Nachfragen gehört dabei ebenso wie das Zuhören zum Standardwerkzeug des investigativen Journalisten. So findet sich die grundlegende Definition der Arbeit von KenFM auch im berühmten Zitat des geistigen (Vor)Denkers und Autoren George Orwell wieder: „Journalismus heißt etwas zu drucken, von dem jemand will, dass es nicht gedruckt wird. Alles andere ist Public Relations.“

Bei uns landen harte Themen nicht im Giftschrank. Wir sind nicht auf Quote aus. Uns geht es um Relevanz und darum in einer zunehmend eindimensionalen Debattenkultur des Mainstreams die Sichtweise auf politische Ereignisse um alternative Blickwinkel zu erweitern. Das Verstehen globaler komplexer Zusammenhänge soll sich in einem Kontext von Ursache und Wirkung wiederfinden. Fragmente werden beleuchtet, um auch die umliegenden Puzzleteile eines Gesamtzusammenhangs offenzulegen. Es soll nichts im Dunkeln verbleiben, sondern auf dem Tisch der geistigen Auseinandersetzung verstehbar werden.

Dies sind die wesentlichen Zielsetzungen, die sich KenFM gesetzt hat und die in den verschiedenen KenFM-Rubriken abgebildet werden:

„KenFM im Gespräch“ portraitiert sowohl populäre Gäste als auch weniger bekannte Persönlichkeiten vorwiegend aus den Bereichen Politik, Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft in Einzelinterviews.

„KenFM am Telefon“ befragt Experten vor allem zu tagesaktuellen Ereignissen.

Die Rubriken „NachdenKEN“ und „KenFM über“ fassen politische Statements und kritische Gedanken Ken Jebsens zu unterschiedlichen Themen zusammen.

„KenFM am Set“ zeigt Aktionen und Veranstaltungen aus verschiedenen Bereichen des politischen Lebens. Vorträge an Universitäten oder Wortbeiträge auf Demonstrationen und in anderen Diskussionszirkeln rücken in dieser Rubrik in den Mittelpunkt.

Neben diesen bereits erwähnten Formaten von KenFM findet eine weitere neue Rubrik unter der Überschrift „Me, Myself & Media (MMM)“ breiten Anklang in der Netz-Community: Hier werden aktuelle politische Diskussionen aus dem Mainstream kritisch und mit dem nötigen Humor unter die Lupe genommen. Wesentliche „unter den Tisch gefallene“ Informationen werden in die Auseinandersetzung eingebracht, dreiste Propaganda wird enttarnt und politische oder journalistische Beiträge, die NATO-Netzwerken oder anderen Lobbyorganisationen entspringen, bekommen als solche in MMM ihr Fett weg.

Among them is since 2015 a talk format that replace the classic political talk show on German television through innovative additions, but at least able to expand significantly "positions - understand politics." The sections "think" and "KenFM about" seize political statements and critical thought Ken Jebsens on different topics together.

In addition to these aforementioned formats KenFM find another new section under the heading "Me, Myself & Media (MMM)" broad appeal in the network community: See recent political discussions out of the mainstream are critical and with the necessary humor under the magnifying glass taken.
