Khutbah Idul Fitri & Idul Adha

In the book al-Fiqh al-Manhajî 'ala Madzhabil Imam ash-Shafi'î by Mustafa al-Khin, Mustafa al-Bugha, and 'Ali ash-Asyarbaji it is explained that different from Friday prayers, the sermon at the Eid prayer is carried out after two rak'ahs of prayer. over, not the other way around. Hadiths narrated by Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim explain that Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr, and Umar also performed two Eid prayers before the sermon.

The law of sermons in the Id prayer is indeed sunnah. However, when it is done, it must still fulfill the pillars of the sermon. The pillars of the sermon at the Eid prayer are no different from the pillars of the sermon at the Friday prayer, namely praising Allah, reading prayers, making a will about piety, reading verses from the Qur'an in one of the sermons, and praying for the Muslims in the second sermon.

The preacher who is required to stand (if able) while delivering the sermon is sunnah to interrupt the two sermons by sitting for a while. As revealed in the hadith of Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah who said:

"It is sunnah for an Imam to deliver the sermon twice during the Eid prayers (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha), and separate the two sermons by sitting down." (HR Asy-Shafi'i)

In the first sermon, it is sunnah to start by reciting takbir up to nine times, while in the second sermon he opens it with takbir seven times. When the sermon takes place, the congregation is ordered to be quiet, listen carefully, in order to obtain the process of perfection Id Prayer.
