Panzer Missions

Panzer Missions is a turn based strategy game set on the eastern front during the Second World War. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011


You are in command of a squadron of German WWII units - tanks, infantry and artillery units - and the object of the game is to finish harder and harder missions as quickly as possible. In later campaigns both you and Red Army will get better units, Germans going from Panzer IVs to Tigers, and Russians getting T-34s. The scenario includes fuel transportation to armored units and ammo delivery to artillery with trucks. Map scale is fairly small so each mission does not take too long.


FEATURES:

+ Quick-to-play missions, which evolve from easy to hard as your career progresses. First missions take just a handful of turns/minutes to finish, but the later ones can evolve into a bitter grind to reach the objectives.

+ Simple resource management and logistics with supply depots: Transport ammo to artillery and fuel to WSS, motorized, and tank units to keep the spearhead of your attack going.

+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.

+ Competitive: Measure your skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.

+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between bigger strategic goals and smaller tasks like holding a coherent frontline and encircling nearby units, etc.

+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, turn resource types ON/OFF, and much more.


In order to be a victorious general, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely a good idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.
