My Social Reading

My Social Reading is the app designed for the school world to allow students and teachers to read a text together, comment on it, interact and discuss through short text messages according to the typical dynamics of social networks. All within a safe and appropriately structured educational ecosystem.

The pleasure of reading
Students, within an environment in which they feel at ease, discover the pleasure of reading. In this sense, the app makes a profound, intimate and never distracting reading possible.

Knowledge and skills
The app allows you to put into practice a current digital teaching that triggers effective learning mechanisms that allow you to acquire specific knowledge related to the language and beyond and to exercise transversal strategic skills, such as digital and citizenship. The possibility of inserting textual comments leads students to work not only on reading skills but also on writing and synthesis.

Informal, experiential and collaborative learning
The informal methodology underlying the teaching of social reading makes learning natural and spontaneous, transforming school activity into a real experience to be lived anytime and anywhere, beyond the walls of the classroom and the sound of the bell. The possibility of interacting activates collaborative learning dynamics thanks to which, in a completely spontaneous way, students find themselves exchanging opinions, discussing, telling, telling and learning together, each according to their own inclinations and their own style of learning and communication.

Augmented reading: reading and connecting
The possibility of inserting not only texts, but also links and images in the comments makes reading increased: In this way, students can make connections, deepen through web searches to share with other readers, sharing further contents and ideas.

An inclusive app
Thanks to the integrated tools, each student can customize their reading experience by choosing the font of the text, the size, the color of the background and activating the automatic reading of the text.

Two ways of social reading
The application allows two working modes:

Transversal readings: involving classes from all over Italy.
During the year, moments of reading are launched on specific texts which teachers can join with their class. Through a shared calendar, all participants can read and comment on the same text at the same time.

Private reading: involving restricted reading groups created by the teacher.
Within the app, the teacher has a library of ready-made projects and readings available around which he can create reading groups involving only the students he wishes or the entire class.

Didactic ideas and tools for monitoring
The readings offered within the application are enriched with ideas for the teacher to use to animate interaction, stimulate students effectively, monitor work and moderate conversations.

Usage
To access the application, you must register on the pearson.it site
