Riding Pals

The Mission

Riding Pals aims to alleviate the disappointment which arises from friends cancelling on a planned ride last minute by providing users with alternative people to ride with. Additionally, the Riding Pals app can be used to make new friends who users might not otherwise meet.

Furthermore, Riding Pals aims to make mountain biking a safer sport by connecting people together for group rides. All rides have the uncertainty of injury, riding within a group enables an ambulance to be contacted if necessary.

How the app works?

Riding Pals are found when location a ride (e.g Peaslake) and the planned date (e.g 25/12/2020) are selected. When the "join groups" icon is pressed, users are added into a group with other people who plan to ride at the same location on the same day. Within the group chat specific meeting details can be discussed. All group chats are moderated to ensure safety for all users.

Moreover, personal details can be included in the profile section, including name, favourite trails and other important information.

Notifications enable the most recent updates in active group chats to be easily seen.
