Hammam bin Ghalib bin Sasa’ah Al-Tamimi Al-Darami, Abu Firas, famous for Al-Farazdaq. A poet, one of the nobles, from the people of Basra, who had a great influence on the language. It was said: If it were not for Al-Farazdaq’s poetry, a third of the language of the Arabs would have gone, and without his poetry, half of the people’s news would have gone. Looks like Zuhair bin Abi Salma. And both of them are among the poets of the first class, Zuhair in the pre-Islamic era, and Al-Farazdaq in the Islamists. He is the author of the news with Jarir and Al-Akhtal, and his arguments for them are too many to mention. He was honorable among his people, dear to his side, protecting those who sought refuge in his father's grave - and his father was one of the most honorable - and so was his grandfather. In the explanation of Nahj al-Balaghah: Al-Farazdaq used to sing in front of the caliphs and princes only while sitting, and Suleiman bin Abdul-Malik wanted to establish him, so a group of Tamim revolted, so he was allowed to sit! He collected some of his poetry in (Diwan - i) and among the mothers of literature and news books (Naqad Jarir and al-Farazdaq - i) three volumes. In his youth, he was nicknamed Abu Makiya, who was his daughter. And the title Balfrazdaq, for the severity of his face and ruthlessness. And he died in the Basra desert, and he was close to a hundred. And there is a lot of news. He was famous for women, Zir Guan, and had not a single house in a relative mentioned. Al-Murtada said: He was envious of poetry and exaggerated the approval of the good of it. Diwan Al-Farazdaq
A book that includes the poems of "Al Farazdaq"; The most famous poets of the Umayyad era, who was famous for his poetry of praise, pride and satire. His name is Abu Firas Hammam bin Ghalib bin Sa`sa bin Najia bin Aqal, and he is considered one of the most poets who represented life in all its aspects during the Umayyad era, and he was proud of himself. Al-Farazdaq was a contemporary of the poet Jarir, and the satire between them is said to have lasted fifty years, although Jarir lamented him in a long poem upon his death.
