Aplikácia slúži pre ľudí, ktorí prichádzajú zo zahraničia a sú umiestnení do domácej izolácie podľa nariadenia krízového štábu a úradu verejného zdravotníctva SR.

Úlohou je informovať užívateľa o zostávajúcej dobe karantény, notifikovať o nutnosti overenia dodržiavania domácej izolácie prostredníctvom tvárovej biometrie a GPS koordinátov. Zároveň aplikácia zobrazuje štatistické údaje o celkovom počte nakazených a prehľad chorobnosti v regiónoch.

Proces funkcionality domácej karantény je nasledovný:

1. Užívateľ, Repatriant, ktorý by chcel využiť domácu karanténu, sa musí pred stiahnutím aplikácie registrovať na stránkach https://ekarantena.korona.gov.sk/ svojimi identifikačnými údajmi, ako aj presným miestom, kde sa bude vyskytovať v domácej karanténe. Toto miesto nieje možné neskôr zmeniť. Zároveň je potrebné použiť jednotné telefónne číslo, ktoré bude užívateľ používať ako referenčné telefónne číslo v tomto telefóne po celú dobu pre aplikáciu eKarantena. Telefónne číslo nieje možné meniť a musí byť totožné s číslom vo formulári registrácie domácej karantény na stránkach https://ekarantena.korona.gov.sk/

2. Užívateľ stiahne aplikáciu eKarantena Slovensko a musí povoliť všetky požiadavky aplikácie vrátane GPS, ktoré musia bežať na pozadí, notifikácie, či prístup k fotoaparátu. Užívateľ musí mať k dispozícii neprtržite internet, ako aj platnú SIM kartu na telefóne, kde beží aplikácia a je registrovaný po celú dobu používania. Bez týchto funkcí, nebude povolené užívateľovi využívať domácu karanténu a môže byť umiestnený do štátneho zariadenia.

3. Užívateľ sa následne zaregistruje prostredníctvom overovacej SMS a spraví si svoju osobnú tvárovú biometriu, ktorá bude skontrolovaná na hraniciach.

4. V prípade, že aplikácia nebude fungovať na telefóne, alebo nebudú povolené všetky funkcionality, užívateľovi nebude musieť byť povolená domáca karanténa.

5. Na hraniciach bude vyzvaný autoritou, aby sa preukázal funkčnou aplikáciou a skontroluje sa biometria a či aplikácia funguje správne.

6. Užívateľ sa preukáže svojím osobným kódom, alebo bar kódom, ktorý sa nachádza v informáciach o užívateľovi v aplikácii eKarantena Slovensko priamo pred autoritou.

7. Užívateľ autorite nahlási identifikátor, alebo autorita zosníma bar kód, overí sa bezpečnostný kód, ktorý autorita nadiktuje a následne sa vygeneruje overovací kód, ktorý autorita overí a zadá do systému. Od tohoto momentu začne plynúť 8-hodín na presunutie sa do miesta karantény vo webovom formulári v kroku 1.

8. V mieste karantény sa aplikácia môže dotazovať prostredníctvom SMS správ, aby sa užívateľ verifikoval. Čas na verifikáciu sa môže zo dňa na deň meniť a je potrebné vykonať verifikáciu bezodkladne a mať telefón stále k dispozícii.

9. Overenie prebieha prostredníctvom tvárovej biometrie a na server sa pošlú informácie ohľadom času, dátumu, prípadne vychýlení sa od polohy domácej karantény.

Aplikácia neustále kontroluje GPS polohu lokálne a hlási porušenie, v prípade, že sa užívateľ vzdiali od pozície.

Pre správne fungovanie aplikácie je potrebné:

- povoliť prístup ku kamere
- povoliť a mať zapnuté GPS
- vyhnúť sa vybitiu telefónu
- ponechať aplikáciu nainštalovanú. Opätovná inštalácia nie je možná.
- ponechat zapnuté notifikácie na prichádzajúce SMS (alebo telefón pravidelne kontrolujte) pre potrebu overenia tvárovej biometrie
- zabezpečiť prístup na internet

Ako sa uistiť, že aplikácia eKarantena oscanuje správne Vašu tvár:

- držte telefón po celý čas vo výške očí
- snažte sa otočiť tvárou k zdroju svetla, nestojte chrbtom k oknu, aby ste nemali svetlo oproti Vám, ani nestojte priamo pod lampou, môžu spôsobovať tiene v tvári
- pokiaľ okuliare vytvárajú silnú reflexiu a zlyháva overenie, je vhodné si dať okuliare dolu
- Sledujte očami modrý alebo čierny bod na obrazovke
- Prižmúrené oči môžu spôsobovať zlyhávanie overenia
- Telefón držte po celý čas v jednej pozícii pokiaľ neprejdete celým procesom
The application is used for people who come from abroad and are placed in domestic isolation according to the regulation of the crisis staff and the public health office of the Slovak Republic.

The task is to inform the user about the remaining quarantine period, to notify the need to verify compliance with home insulation through facial biometrics and GPS coordinates. At the same time, the application displays statistical data on the total number of infected and an overview of morbidity in the regions.

The process of home quarantine functionality is as follows:
 
1. The user, Repatriant, who would like to use the domestic quarantine, must, before downloading the application, register on the website https://ekarantena.korona.gov.sk/ with his identification data, as well as the exact place where he will appear in the domestic quarantine. This location can't be changed later. At the same time, it is necessary to use a single telephone number, which the user will use as a reference telephone number in this telephone at all times for the eKarantena application. The telephone number cannot be changed and must be identical to the number in the home quarantine registration form on the website https://ekarantena.korona.gov.sk/

2. The user downloads the eKarantena Slovensko application and must allow all applications of the application, including GPS, which must run in the background, notifications, or access to the camera. The user must have internet at all times, as well as a valid SIM card on the phone where the application runs and is registered for the entire period of use. Without these features, the user will not be allowed to use home quarantine and may be placed in a state facility.

3. The user then registers via a verification SMS and makes his personal facial biometrics, which will be checked at the borders.

4. If the application does not work on the phone or all functionalities are not enabled, the user will not have to be allowed home quarantine.

5. At the border, the authority will be called upon to demonstrate a functional application and to check the biometrics and whether the application is working properly.

6. The user proves himself with his personal code or bar code, which is located in the information about the user in the eKarantena Slovensko application directly in front of the authority.

7. The user reports the identifier to the authority, or the authority scans the bar code, the security code dictated by the authority is verified, and then a verification code is generated, which the authority verifies and enters into the system. From this point on, it takes 8 hours to move to the quarantine site in the web form in step 1.

8. At the quarantine site, the application can query via SMS messages to verify the user. The verification time may change from day to day and you need to verify immediately and keep your phone available.

9. Verification is performed by means of facial biometrics and information regarding the time, date, or deviation from the location of the domestic quarantine is sent to the server.

The application constantly checks the GPS position locally and reports a violation in case the user moves away from the position.

For the correct functioning of the application it is necessary:

- allow access to the camera
- enable and enable GPS
- avoid discharging the phone
- leave the application installed. Reinstallation is not possible.
- leave notifications turned on for incoming SMS (or check the phone regularly) for the purpose of verifying facial biometrics
- provide internet access

How to make sure eKarantena scans your face properly:

- Hold the phone at eye level at all times
- try to turn your face to the light source, do not stand with your back to the window so that you do not have light in front of you, or stand directly under the lamp, they can cause shadows on your face
- if the glasses create a strong reflection and verification fails, it is advisable to put the glasses down
- Observe the blue or black dot on the screen with your eyes
- Narrow eyes can cause authentication to fail
- Keep your phone in one position at all times until you go through the whole process
