The khutbah is the relevant speech or discourse given by the representative of the caliph, the responsible person or the imam and the khatib before the Friday prayers, after both the Eid prayers, at the namirat in the mosque on the day of Hajj Arafat, at weddings and various Islamic ceremonies. The one who gives khutba is called 'khatib'.
In Islamic terminology, khutbah is a discourse in which the praise of Allah, the proclamation of His Oneness, the darood to the Prophet, and the admonition to the people present are present.
