Edgar Wallace: English writer, known for his prolific literary production, and best known for his detective writings.

Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace was born in London in 1875, had a poor childhood, and left school at the age of twelve. He joined the army at the age of twenty-one, and worked as a war correspondent for Reuters during the Second Boer War.

Among his most famous works: the novel "The Council of Justice", "The Night Thief", and "The Seven Locks", as well as many serial short stories, and story collections such as "Sanders in the River", the creator of the "King Kong" character.
Wallace died in 1932.
