It is a Meccan surah, the number of its verses is five and its order is before the last in the Noble Qur’an, and it is one of the surahs that are called al-Moawadhat because the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, used to recite it every night with Surah al-Nass, leaving other incantations to suffice him from all evil and to protect and protect himself from any harm or sorcery

It was revealed to the Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, before his emigration to Medina, when a Jew called Lapid bin Al-Asam tried to charm the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and when he called the people of Quraish to harm the Messenger with his magic, God Almighty revealed this surah to protect the Messenger from their magic. He has already protected him and healed him.
