قصة مسلسل عفاريت عدلى علام :
يكون عادل إمام جالسا في مخزن قديم بدار الهيئة ليقرأ كتاب ما، وفجأة تظهر له عفريته تجسدها غادة عادل، من وسط الكتب القديمة التى لا يقرأها أحد ومركونة من زمن طويل داخل المخزن، وحينما تخبره غادة عادل بانها عفريتة يفزع الزعيم منها كثيرا ولكنها تحاول ان تقنعه بأنها جاءت له من أجل مهمة ما وعمل إنساني ونبيل، وان أهل الجن اختاروه شخصيا لكي يقوم هو بهذه المهمة، ويبدأ بعد ذلك بالحلقات التالية فى أن يدخل عادل إمام فى عالم العفريته ويستمع لها ولقصص رجال الاعمال الفاسدين، وينسى أمر زوجته تماما التى تجسدها الفنان هالة صدقى وخصوصا وأنه يكون دائما فى المكتبة ويقرا الكثير والكثير ويحاول الكشف عن الحقيقة مع العفريته ويركز معها لينسى حياته ومنزله وزوجته وينقلب على زوجته هالة صدقي التى تدعى بـ"انيسة" خلال الأحداث.
ومن هنا يبدأ الشك يساور الزوجة أنيسة وأن زوجها يخونها وعلى علاقة بإمراة أخرى، خصوصا وأن عدلي علام يخفي قصة العفاريت عن زوجته، فتضطر أنيسة إلى أن تلجأ إلى السحر والدجل والشعوذة لكى تكشف عن المرأة التي يخونها زوجها معها، ويحدث العديد من المواقف الطريفة والكوميدية بين عادل إمام وهالة صدقي طوال الحلقات.

ولم تكن غادة عادل العفريتة الوحيدة التى تظهر لعادل إمام أو عدلى علام فى الأحداث، ولكن يبدأ توالى العديد من العفاريت يحملون له العديد من القصص عن رجال أعمال لهم سلطة ونفوذ وأقوياء فى البلد، ومعهم العديد من الملفات التى تثبت ذلك الأمر، ويطلبون منه أن يقوم بمهمة نقل هذه المعلومات للرأى العام وكشف المستور عنهم.

ويتوجه "عدلي" للصديق الأقرب له الذى يجسده رشوان توفيق حيث يتولى رئاسة تحرير إحدى الصحف، ويتفق معه على كتابة المقالات تحت اسم مستعار، ويشعل الرأى العام بما يقوله عن هؤلاء الفسدة وفضحهم، ويبدأ رجال الأعمال فى البحث عن الشخص الذى يكتب تلك المقالات، وفي البداية ترفض الجريدة بإخبارهم عن هوية الشخص صاحب تلك المقالات إلا بعد ضغط يكشف عنه ويتوصلون له ويدخلونه إلى السجن.

ويحاول كمال أبو ريا الذى يجسد صديق "عدلى علام" ان ينقذ صديقه ويخرجه من تلك الأزمة ويسانده حتى يخرج من السجن.

ولا تظهر لعدلي علام العفريته مرة أخرى داخل السجن الذى تعود أن يراها في المخزن، وحينما يخرج من السجن يذهب إلى إحدى الشيوخ ليروى له ما حدث معه، ويجسد شخصية الشيخ الدجال الفنان أحمد حلاوة، ويكتشف عدلى علام في نهاية الأمر أنه دجال.

ومن هنا يصاب عدلي علام بصدمة لأأن غادة عادل ليست عفريته من الجن بل انسانة عادية، ولكنها تحاول الإنتقام من بعض رجال الأعمال الفاسدين، ومعها الكثير من الوثائق والمستندان، إلى أن تلجأ إلى عدلى علام لكى يساعدها، وأيضا باقي الشخصيات الذين ظهروا لعدلى ما هم إلا من عالم الأنس وليس من عالم الجن.
