The one who is obligated to pay zakat must collect what he has of money, multiply it by two and a half, and then divide the result by a hundred, so that the amount of zakat that he owes on this money comes out. Whoever owned five thousand Jordanian dinars multiply it by two and a half, so the result will be twelve thousand five hundred, then divide it by a hundred, so the result will be one hundred and twenty-five Jordanian dinars, which is the amount of zakat due on him on this money, and the arithmetic process is as follows: (5000 x 2.5 = 12500 ÷ 100 = 125) Jordanian dinars.

The minimum nisab for gold is twenty gold dinars, which is equivalent to eighty-five grams of gold. Whoever owns eighty-five grams of gold or more is obligated to zakat in the amount of a quarter of a tenth; That is, two and a half percent, so the owner collects what he owns of the fines of gold and divides them into forty, and the result is the amount of zakat due on him. The calculation is as follows: (600÷40 = 15) grams of gold.
