Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini Hijazi Muhammad Yousef Sharif, a specialist in hadith. He was born in the month (June 1956 / Dhu al-Qa’dah 1375 AH) and is known as Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini after the village of Hawain in the far north of Gharbia Governorate, in which he was born and raised. He is considered the most prominent Salafist sheikh in Egypt. He has authored several books and used to deliver two Friday prayers a month at the Sheikh al-Islam mosque in his hometown.
