“다음 세대를 일으키는 교회”

하나님이 주신 사명은 그 사람들이 사는 시대와 사건이 말해줍니다.
이스라엘이 노예로 살아갔던 시대에 하나님의 사람에게 주신 사명은 “출애굽”이었습니다. 왕정시대 다윗의 아들로 태어난 솔로몬에게 주신 사명은 “성전건축”이었습니다. 예수님이 오시기 직전시대, 세례요한에게 주신 사명은 “길을 예비하는 것”이었습니다.
우리에게 주신 사명은 무엇일까요?
그것 역시 우리가 살아가는 시대와 사건이 말해줍니다.
지금 우리의 시대 한국은 교회가 쇠퇴하는 시대입니다. 교인 수는 점점 감소하고, 교회의 부도덕함은 사람들의 가십거리가 되고 있습니다. 2014년 각 장로교 교세현황이 발표되었는데, 모든 장로교단의 교인수가 감소되고 있었고, 안타깝게도 우리교단이 가장 많이 감소된 것으로 나타났습니다. 충격적인 것은 주일학교의 감소폭이 장년보다 더 심각하다는 것입니다. 모 장로교단의 조사결과 그 교단에 주일학교 조직이 없는 교회가 평균 45%가 된다고 합니다. 아이들과 청년들이 영적으로 방황하고, 험하고 어두운 세상문화에 힘없이 휘말려 들어가고 있습니다. 이것이 우리들이 사는 시대와 환경입니다. 그리고 또한편 우리가 해야할 일을 말해주고 있습니다.
우리가 이 시대에 받은 소명은 “다음세대”를 향한 것입니다.
남서울우리교회는 2015년 “다음세대를 일으키는 교회”란 목적을 가지고 달려가려합니다. 그것을 위해 교육부서를 더욱 활성화시키고, 가정에서는 가정예배 드리기 운동, 아이들에게 “잠언”읽히기 운동을 하려고 합니다.
거대한 시대의 흐름을 거스리기에 너무도 작은 움직임 같아 보이지만, 오병이어의 기적을 만드신 하나님을 기대함으로, 이 작은 헌신을 올려드립니다.
함께 “다음세대를 일으키는 교회”를 세워가는 2015년이 되도록 합시다.
