The merit of reciting Surat al-Shu’ara is due to the fact that it dealt with many topics and rulings. It is one of the Meccan surahs that were revealed to the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in Makkah al-Mukarramah, with the exception of four verses, of which are civil, and the total number of verses is 224 verses, and it is Surah No. 26 in terms of Arrangement in the Holy Book of God, and this surah dealt with the way the prophets communicated their heavenly message with their people.

The virtue of reciting Surat al-Shu`ara'
Reciting any surah in the Noble Book of God is good and a great reward for its reader, as it brings a person closer to his Lord.

The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said in the hadith narrated by Abdullah bin Masoud - may God be pleased with him - when he said: “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of God will have a good deed for it, and a good deed is ten times more.”

{So I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord granted me judgment and made me one of the messengers}

On the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, that he said: “Whoever recites Surat al-Shu’ara’ will have ten rewards, as many as the number of those who believed in Noah and lied about him, Hood, Shuaib, Salih and Abraham, peace be upon them, and the number of those who lied about Jesus, peace be upon him, and believed in Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family.”

{And when the magicians came, they said to Pharaoh: Is there a reward for us, if we shall be victorious?}

And he, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever is addicted to reading it, no thief, fire, or drowning person will enter his house, and whoever wrote it and drank it, God cured him of every disease, and whoever wrote it and hung it on a white rooster separated, for the rooster walks and does not stand except on a treasure, or He charms and digs it with his beak, until he shows it.”
