Naghmeh was born on January 1, 1964 in Kandahar. When he was a child, his family moved to Kabul, and he completed his primary and secondary education at Aino Kandahar High School and Rabia Balkhi Primary School in Kabul. Naghmeh started singing by singing ballads at school and was introduced to Afghan television at the age of 18. His first song was (Suzem Pe Ghamouki Pe Chelandeh Zamani), which was composed by Hamed Hosseini and recorded on the Afghan National Radio and Television. Naghmeh married Mangal, a Pashto singer, in 1981. He and his first wife, Mangal, were a successful artistic couple, but in 2004 their relationship broke down. They have left a lot of songs from this period. She remarried to the son of Rumi Mohammad Nabi Mohammadi, one of the jihadi leaders, for ten years. He currently performs in Europe and the United States. Naghmeh has four children, two daughters, Lima Medina, and two sons, Anwar and Khyber, who live in the United States. He began composing poetry at the age of fourteen. Divan has a poem called (Broken Mirror or Matte Mirror).
