Ablution is an important form of worship in Islam that seeks to cleanse the most polluted parts of the body. That is why he cannot pray without ablution and find the Ka'bah. He cannot hold the Qur'an with his bare hands. But he can read the open Qur'an. There are many benefits in this world and in the hereafter. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

"Whoever performs ablution as commanded and prays as commanded, his past sins will be forgiven" (Bukhari, Udu / 28).
It is said, “Whoever performs ablution and washes his face, his sins are washed away by his limbs, and his sins are washed away by the drops of water and he becomes pure” (Muslim, Taharat / 32).
