Based on studies and research, Santour is considered to be one of the oldest instruments in Iran. It is believed that Santour has spread from Iran to other countries and found various letters. There is a slight difference in the appearance of the dulcimer with the different letters in the eastern and western parts of the world.
Santour training is one of the most important and sensitive trainings provided.
The dulcimer is played with two wooden wounds, and the landing of the wounds on the large number of strings makes the teaching space of this instrument a little different from other Iranian musical instruments.

Santour is a percussion-percussion instrument that has a perfectly regular and geometric shape. The instrument consists of a trapezoidal sound box, the longest parallel side of which is close to the musician, and two sides of equal length intersect the two parallel sides diagonally.

The dulcimer has 72 strings that are divided into groups of four. These four strings pass through a vault and all four strings are aligned; But each separate wire is connected to certain corners that are placed on the right side.

Santour is played with two thin sticks called mezrab. In the past, percussion instruments were without felt, but now they are more attached to felt percussion instruments, which makes the sound of the dulcimer softer and less rusty. In addition to the agility of the instruments, playing this instrument requires the concentration of the mind, which can only be achieved with a lot of testing.
