About Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen:

Muhammad bin Saleh al-Uthaymeen, he is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Saleh bin Muhammad bin Suleiman bin Abd al-Rahman al-Uthaymeen al-Wahibi al-Tamimi (March 29, 1929 - January 11, 2001). He was born on the night of Ramadan 27, 1347 AH, in Unaizah, one of the cities of Al-Qassim. He read the Holy Qur’an to his grandfather on his mother’s side, Abdul Rahman bin Suleiman Al Damigh. So he memorized it, then turned to seeking knowledge, learning calligraphy, arithmetic, and some arts of etiquette.
His upbringing from childhood
He grew up in a middle-income family, as his father worked in the trade between Riyadh and Unaizah, then he settled in Unaizah and worked before his death in the orphanage in Unaizah. The Sheikh was asked: Did you work in commerce besides your request for knowledge? He said: No, because the father was in Riyadh, and he was well off. He did not have the means of luxury in the request, as the sheikh describes the place in which he reads as a room made of mud overlooking a cowshed.
scientific upbringing
He learned the Qur’an from his grandfather on his mother’s side, Abd al-Rahman bin Sulaiman al-Damegh, then learned writing and some literature and arithmetic. He joined a school and memorized the Qur’an at an early age, as well as abbreviations of texts in hadith and jurisprudence. Abd al-Rahman bin Nasser al-Saadi had arranged for his senior students to teach the beginner students, and among them was Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz al-Mutawa, so Al-Uthaymeen joined him.
After studying monotheism, jurisprudence, and grammar, he sat in the circle of Abd al-Rahman bin Nasser al-Saadi, and taught him in interpretation, hadith, monotheism, jurisprudence, its origins, obligations, and grammar.
Abd al-Rahman al-Saadi is considered his first reference who was influenced by his approach, its rooting, and his follow-up to the guide and the method of teaching it.
He read to Abd al-Rahman bin Ali bin Oudan in the science of religious obligations during his tenure as a judiciary in Unaizah, and he read to Abd al-Razzaq Afifi in grammar and rhetoric while he was in Unaizah. At that time, including Muhammad Al-Amin Al-Shanqeeti, Abdul Aziz bin Nasser bin Rashid, Abdul Rahman Al-Afriqi and others.
He contacted Abd al-Aziz bin Abdullah bin Baz, and he read to him in the mosque from Sahih al-Bukhari and from the letters of Ibn Taymiyyah, and benefited from him in the science of hadith and the consideration of the opinions of the jurists of the Sunnis and the community and comparison between them. He graduated from the Scientific Institute, then continued his university studies in affiliation until he obtained a university degree from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh. He was also one of the main participants in the Saudi Holy Quran Radio, especially in the Noor Ala Al-Darb program.

Sheikh Ali Al-Hamad Al-Salihi was one of the first to seek knowledge from his hands, and Sheikh Ali was one of the students of Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi, and he used to teach beginners.
Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Mutawa, and he was one of the first to seek knowledge at his hands, and Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Saadi had entrusted him with teaching young students, so he read on the two sheikhs the creed, jurisprudence, and the methodology of the righteous.
Sheikh Abd al-Rahman bin Ali bin Oudan, the judge of Unaizah, who taught him religious duties and jurisprudence.

And he lived preaching this faith until the last days of his life, in his lessons that he used to deliver in the Sacred Mosque from his room, while he was on his sick bed.
