Eight Proud of Hongik Church
A simple survey was conducted at the Hongik Church Retreat Center last February.
"What is the pride of our Hongik church?"
There are eight things that more than 100 lay leaders gathered in this movement.
Perhaps the hearts of the whole people are the same.

 

Good we got together
The first pride was, "Our Hongik church is full of love and affection among the members."
Our Hongik Church is a church where diverse people gather but there are no conflicts due to the gap between the rich and the poor, and the poor can easily adapt to the poor. Climbing competitions, outdoor worship, institutional retreats, Christmas Eve party meetings (food parties), Songgu Yeongsin 윷 nori competition, and various Aekyungsa participate in sharing time with each other.
Our Hongik church is a church full of care and affection for each other.

 Trust and respect for each other
The second pride was, “Our Hongik church is deeply trusted in obedience to the workers, the session, and the board of directors.”
Our Hongik Church considers each position to serve.
That is why it is a church that serves the Lord through serving each other.
Serving is a privilege and a joyful church.
It is a church that strives to obey each other because it trusts in the sovereign rule of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

 Hot flames of prayer
The third boast was “a church with high prayer enthusiasm and prayer.”
Our Hongik church has been praying at dawn every evening since the 80's.
Whenever I have a hard time, whenever I have a hard time, I have experienced the works of God and the opening of a new way through this 9 o'clock prayer meeting.
Since this year, we have continued the flames of prayer by dividing the early morning prayer into 1 part and 2 parts instead of the 9 o'clock.
The flames of prayer are so hot that all the saints are proud of their efforts in prayer.
Sharing, giving, serving
The fourth pride was "I work hard to serve the poor".
Our Hongik church has a lot of disadvantaged neighbors around the church.
We are doing various volunteer activities for the elderly who live alone, the children who live in boys and girls, and the families who are in need.
Free meals, packed lunches, daily necessities, visits to the atrium and the naked world, tours, bazaars. I'm working hard.

Young man with the heart of Jesus Christ
The fifth pride was, “The youth is being hot.”
Our Hongik church is located in the garden because of the topography, so it is inconvenient to use public transportation such as subways and buses as well as private cars.
The neighborhood of the church is a residential area where many people and the elderly live.
Therefore, it is a difficult condition for young people to gather, but the young people are relatively hot.
Youths such as Dawn Dew are striving for passionate worship, dynamic small groups, and various service activities (domestic, overseas, hospital, cultural, etc.).

Impressive Worship
The sixth boast was "Full of joy and grace of the word."
Our God is worthy of the highest worship.
So our Hongik church wants to give our best to God.
We expect God to rejoice and dance happily through our worship and praise.
We believe in meeting and speaking to us through worship.
Wandering souls will return to the Lord through worship, and the wounded souls will be healed, resolved, and filled with the history of grace.

 
Silent service
The seventh boast was, "There are many people who speak silently throughout the church."
Our Hongik Church is volunteering all over the place.
Starting with cleaning every corner of the church on Saturdays, flower arrangements, parking management, broadcasting studios, kitchens, book rentals, internet, video, drama, praise, data management, documentation, and decoration. … There are hands that serve everywhere according to their gifts and talents.
We believe that our service is a living sacrifice and living worship.

To the ends of the earth
The eighth boast was "a church committed to mission."
We, Hongik Church, are working hard at home and abroad by accepting the Lord's words to witness to the ends of the earth. Not only do we support the farming and fishing villages in Korea, we are also sending out overseas missionaries, planting churches, establishing seminaries, and building mission communities. In particular, the Hangeul School for Foreign Migrant Workers is operating in-house, especially for young people, and the result is the establishment of local churches and seminary support ministry.
I am proud to serve a healthy and beautiful church.
Serving with the pure and passionate saints is a joy and gratitude.
