Baekhyun was born on May 6, 1992 in Bucheon, Gyeonggi, South Korea. His family consists of parents and a brother who is seven years older than him named Byun Baekbeom. Baekhyun was a hobby of singing from childhood so he kept practicing to be a singer since he was 11 years old. Her obsession with becoming a singer was inspired by South Korean singer Rain.
This 24-year-old man had attended Jungwon High School, Bucheon, at which time Baekhyun was the main vocalist of a band called Honsusangtae. Their band won a local music festival. In addition, Baekhyun also studied the piano diligently from a member of the rock band "DickPunks" named Kim Hyunwoo. Not only busy with music activities, he was also often trained as a martial artist in his youth and had snatched the black belt of Hapkido.

Despite having a cute face and sweet voice, Baekhyun claimed he was always rejected many times when he auditioned. He also gave up and continued his education studies by taking the college entrance exam. However, when Baekhyun was practicing singing to enter the music department competition on a campus, a talent scout from SM Entertainment was attracted to him and told Baekhyun to audition for an idol from SM. Baekhyun agreed and he successfully joined the largest agency in South Korea through the SM Casting System in 2011.

Byun Baekhyun was officially introduced as one of the personnel members of the EXO boy band on January 30, 2012. The group debuted on April 8, 2012 with the number of personnel 13. But unfortunately, 3 people decided to leave EXO and now only 9 personnel have survived until now this is, Kai, DO, Sehun, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Suho, Xiumin, Lay, and Chen.
