Basically, BI checking is another name for Individual Debtor Information (IDI) or a person's credit history or loan history to a bank or non-banking financial institution. All credit history of a customer, good or bad, will be recorded in the Debtor Information System (SID). But starting from January 2018, BI checking or Debtor Information System (SID) services have changed their name to Financial Information Service System (SLIK). SLIK is managed by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and provides Debtor Information (iDeb) for individual Debtors and business Debtors similar to BI checking.

It is this credit record that will determine whether a loan application from a customer will be approved or not.
