The app Learn to read 1 with Zebra is based on the well-known German textbook Zebra, which has been used successfully throughout Germany. It is the continuation of the multi-award-winning app The Zebra Writing Table. The concept was developed in collaboration with the German Primary School Didactics department at the University of Leipzig and implemented by Bernadette Girshausen.

Like the textbook, the app also follows the well-known zebra motto "Everyone in their gait": The children of 1st class can independently discover linguistic structures in 10 basic exercise types based on constantly new tasks and in this way specifically expand or improve their reading skills Overcome difficulties in learning to read. The focus in class 1 is reading words with a special focus on the syllable. Exercise types are:

Lute:
- Listen carefully
- Where's the king?
- What does the king sound like?
Syllable:
- Swing the syllables
- Form words
- Recognize special syllables

- Reading pictures
