Kim Jong-dae (lahir 21 September 1992; umur 27 tahun), lebih dikenal nama panggungnya Chen adalah penyanyi dan penulis lagu.

Chen diterima menjadi trainee melalui casting pada tahun 2011 saat ia berumur delapan belas tahun. Pada 29 Desember 2011, ia secara resmi diperkenalkan sebagai anggota keempat EXO. Chen tampil di depan publik untuk pertama kalinya sebagai anggota EXO bersama Luhan, Tao, dan Kai di SBS Gayo Daejeon 2011.[1] Grup tersebut resmi debut pada 8 April 2012.

Pada tahun 2014, Chen bergabung dengan grup balada S.M. The Ballad, yang dibentuk. Pada album kedua grup tersebut Breath, Chen menyanyikan versi Mandarin dari lagu utama "Breath" dengan Zhang Liyin. Ia juga menyanyikan lagu duet berjudul "When I Was... When U Were..." dengan Krystal f(x) dan "A Day Without You" dengan Jonghyun Shinee. Chen membawakan lagu duetnya dengan Krystal dan Jonghyun secara langsung di S.M. The Ballad Joint Recital pada 12 Februari.

Pada Juli 2014, Chen merilis lagu solo pertamanya sejak debut berjudul "The Best Luck" sebagai bagian dari soundtrack drama SBS It's Okay, That's Love

yang dibintangi rekannya D.O.. "The Best Luck" dianugerahi "OST Terbaik oleh Artis Pria" dan "Lagu OST Terbaik" di So-Loved Awards ke-5 dan Seoul International Youth Film Festival ke-16. Chen juga diundang ke APAN Star Award ke-3 pada 11 November 2014 untuk membawakan lagu tersebut secara langsung.

Pada Januari 2016, Chen membawakan lagu John Lennon yang berjudul "Imagine" dengan pianis terkenal di dunia Steve Barakatt di Sejong Center, sebagai bagian dari "Proyek Imagine" UNICEF.

Pada Februari 2016, Chen dan penyanyi Korea Selatan Punch merilis sebuah lagu duet berjudul "Everytime" sebagai bagian dari soundtrack drama KBS, Descendants of the Sun. Lagu tersebut menduduki posisi pertama di tangga musik digital mingguan Gaon. Pada April 2016, Chen dan rapper Korea Selatan Heize merilis lagu "Lil' Something" yang disusun oleh anggota Vibe, Ryu Jae-hyun, sebagai singel mingguan kesembilan proyek musik S.M. Pda tanggal 8 Maret 2019, SM Entertainment merilis artikel yang menyatakan bahwa Chen sedang mempersiapkan album solo pertamanya, yang akan dirilis pada bulan April, menjadikannya sebagai member kedua EXO yang merilis album solo setelah Lay.

Chen was accepted as a trainee through casting in 2011 when he was eighteen. On December 29, 2011, he was officially introduced as the fourth member of EXO.
