How to be a gentleman, you could be the toughest in the world. You may have never had a training moment on how to be a gentleman. But, I know this. You can change. No matter if you are a teenager, a middle-aged person or a senior citizen, you can improve your manners.

Good manners are about kindness and respect. It would be better if you treated everyone you know with kindness and respect. I am one of those guys who believe that American culture has become progressively more rude and vulgar in the last 100 years, and vulgarity has really increased in the last 40 years.

Don't get me wrong I am not prudish. I like to curse and say nasty things and tell surprisingly dirty jokes. And my wife, Deborah, is the same, but she is a much better joker. But there is a time and a place for everything, including vulgarity.

But even with our sensible senses of humor, I still treat Deborah like a lady.

I have seen many cases in which the men I know are kind and respectful to a girl when they try to get their attention and have an appointment. But after a while, they return to normal behavior and the act of knight would vanish.
