It was on December 21, 1989 that Fr. Santos Spricigo and the Catholic people of Orleans, together, gave thanks to God, inaugurating a radio station in these lands of the hills. Rádio FM Luz e Vida was born small, with only 50 watts of power.

All challenges were important for growth. In 1993, it raised its power to 1,000 watts. In 1994, it transferred its transmission base to the hill of Taipa with 487m of altitude. In 1996 it opens its new facilities and modernizes its equipment. Today it is fully computerized and since May 19, 2003 it started to operate with 8,500 watts, becoming the most powerful Catholic radio station in southern Brazil.

Identified with the options of the Church and faithful to truth and peace, it maintains its schedule 24 hours a day with a lively and creative musical, news, sports, cultural, formative, informative, religious and public service programme. Rádio FM Luz e Vida has been an expressive presence, through its support and the service of its professionals, in the most different events of Orlean society and the region. Your comments, criticisms, debates, when made, are with the criteria of prudence and responsibility.

Rádio FM Luz e Vida, in its 24-hour programming, aims to promote the basic values ​​of society: family, love, fraternity, justice and work; provide the correct information to solve community problems; allow access to the station to those who the social structure has deprived of voice and time; to promote, through good music, healthy entertainment that encourages and brings joy to social life; publicize initiatives that positively build the history of communities; promote culture, leisure, sport and festive and other events; to support the evangelizing action of the church, favoring the spirituality and the expression of the faith of its listeners.
