Alhamdulillah, thanks be to Allah, finally we PonPon Media have successfully completed the Tuhfatul Athfal and Translated application. The Book of Matan Tuhfatul Athfal is a book of nadzham (poems) which contains the basic rules of tajwid which are strung together with beautiful verses, therefore this book is entitled Tuhfatul Athfal which means “Children humming”.

The Book of Matan Tuhfatul Athfal is a nadzham (poem) book that contains the basic rules of recitation of tajwid strung together with beautiful verse verses. The author of this nadzham book is Shaykh Sulaiman bin Hasan bin Muhammad Al Jamzuriy who is attributed to one of the villages in Egypt called Jamzur, near the Thanthaa area.

He was born in the month of Rabiul Awal in the 1160s. Learned tajwid and qiroah (Qur'an reading) including with Shaykh Nuruddin Al Mihiy. Among his essays are Matan Tuhfathul Athfal, Fathul Aqfal Fi Syarhi Tuhfatil Athfal, and Fathurrahmaaniy fi Qiroatil Qur'an.

The science of recitation in terms of Qiraah science is removing letters from their place by giving them the characteristics they have. So the science of recitation is a science that studies how to sound or pronounce the letters contained in the holy book of the Koran or not by conveying the best and perfect way of each reading of the Koranic verse.

The problems raised in the science of tajwid are makharijul letters (where letters go in and out), shifatul letters (how to pronounce letters), ahkamul letters (relationships between letters), ahkamul maddi wal qasr (long and short speech), ahkamul waqaf wal ibtida' ( start and stop reading), and so on.

This book is used as one of the materials in the curriculum in many Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia to build the knowledge base of students on the Science of Tajweed Al-Qur'an which is a very important and fundamental science about the Qur'an.
