Surat Al-Kahf is one of the Surahs of great merit in the Noble Qur’an, and many honorable hadiths have been mentioned in the merits of Surat Al-Kahf, such as the hadith narrated by Abu Al-Dardaa - may God be pleased with him - that the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said:

“Whoever memorizes ten verses from the beginning of Surat Al-Kahf will be protected from the Antichrist” [7].

“Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Friday, he will be infallible for eight days from every trial that may occur, and if the Antichrist comes out, he will be infallible” [8], and he also said:

“Whoever recites Surat Al-Kahf on Friday, it will be illuminated for him from the light between the two Fridays” [9].

There are many other hadiths, but the merit of Surat Al-Kahf is like any other Surah of the Qur’an

Reading and memorizing it must be accompanied by work on its content and with the teachings, lessons and rulings it brought, so there is no lesson for the believer from reading without applying what the Book of God came with [10]. The supplication for forgetfulness in Surat Al-Kahf, the Most High said: “And do not say of anything, ‘I will do that tomorrow’* unless God wills.

And this noble verse was revealed about the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - when the polytheists came to him and asked him about the story of the Companions of the Cave and the story of Dhul-Qarnayn. The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said to them: I will tell you about that tomorrow. He did not say: God willing. So the revelation from God Almighty was cut off from His Prophet for a whole month, until the surah was revealed and in it was a statement of what they had asked about, and in it was this verse whose meaning: Do not say that I will do such-and-such tomorrow resolutely without saying: God willing, and if you forget to say: God willing, Remember God Almighty even after a while, because the remembrance of God Almighty will go away.
