Surat al-Baqarah is the longest for the Koran at all, and is one of the greatest surness. From him, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he said: Do not make your homes graves, for Satan flees from the house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is read. It was narrated by Muslim and Al-Tirmidhi, and he said: Read Surat Al-Baqarah. Taking it is a blessing, and leaving it is a regret, and the heroine, i.e. magicians, cannot take it. (Reported by Muslim).

Muslim narrated on the authority of Abu Umamah Al-Bahili, who said: I heard the Messenger of God saying: Read the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions. Their companion, recite Surat Al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, and leaving it is a heartbreak, and the heroine cannot do it. And he added in a narration that there is no slave who recites it in a rak’ah before he prostrates, then he asks God for something but He will give it to him, if she is about to get all the debt.

This surah was called Surat Al-Baqarah in the narration on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
