AOK Mein Leben

"AOK Mein Leben" - the electronic patient file (ePA) of your AOK - offers you a secure and convenient way to manage your health data. Have your medical documents from the doctors and therapists treating you posted*, supplement them with your own data and create your own health history - this can be easily and securely linked to other med. share facilities*. This gives your doctors a quick overview and leaves more time for your treatment.

* According to §336 and §341 SGB V, all general practitioners and specialists as well as hospitals are required to enter medical data in the electronic patient file. The best thing to do is talk to your treating doctors and therapists.

Health data require the highest level of protection. To ensure this protection, "AOK Mein Leben" offers a range of security measures that must be taken during registration. Please take some time to register #safetyfirst.

The following steps are required for registration:

1. Create a user account with email address and password

2. Register "Second Factor" - "AOK Mein Leben" uses advanced security technology to detect manipulation of the smartphone. For this purpose, the app is permanently linked to the device during registration (max. 5 devices). A new installation of the app must be confirmed with a second device. If no second device is linked, a new identification is required.

3. Confirmation of your AOK membership with your personal health insurance number

4. Identification - This can be done with the help of an eID card and associated PIN via Deutsche Post's POSTIDENT app or in any Deutsche Post branch.

5. Select app protection - Due to the high level of protection required, the smartphone must be protected with a display lock (PIN or biometrics). If this security setting is not activated, the app cannot be used.

6. Activate ePA - This checks whether you already have an ePA from another provider. You can easily bring your previous ePA with you when you switch to the AOK.

7. Choose an authentication for future logins to the EHR. According to §336 SGB V, "AOK Mein Leben" supports the electronic health card (eGK with NFC) and PIN as well as an alternative identity that does not require the use of a physical eGK.

The use of an account of other AOK apps is excluded. The account data is managed separately.
