Mirza Ghalib was born in Kala Kala Mahal, Agra to a Mughal family who had migrated there

Samarkand (in modern-day Uzbekistan) after the fall of the Seljuk kings. His uncle

Grandfather, Mirza Qoq Beg, was a Seljuk Turk who had migrated from India

Samarkand during the reign of Ahmad Shah (1748–54). He worked in Lahore, Delhi and elsewhere

Awarded to Jaipur, Pahaso (Balandshahr, UP) sub-district and eventually settled in

Agra, UP, India He had four sons and three daughters. Mirza Abdullah Baig and Mirza

Nasrullah Beg had two sons.
Mirza Abdullah Baig (Ghalib's father) married Begum, an ethnic Kashmiri.

And then he lived in his father-in-law's house. He first worked through Nawab Off

Lucknow and then Nizam Hyderabad, Deccan. He died in 1803 at Alwar and in a battle

He was buried in Rajgarh (Alwar, Rajasthan). At the time, Ghalib was a little over 5 years old
