MICHI: Mein Weg aus der Depres

"MICHI" means "the way" in Japanese. The MICHI app is intended to help children and young people find their way out of depression.

The MICHI app was developed by child and adolescent psychiatrists and child and adolescent psychotherapists for use in the treatment of depressive illnesses in adolescence. It is based on a therapy program whose effectiveness has been proven in studies. The program consists of a total of six lessons and includes information (psycho-education), therapeutic exercises and strategies for coping with everyday life and improving mood. In this way, the users learn strategies for dealing with the symptoms of the disease and consolidate them with various exercises and everyday tasks. A chat function integrated in the app enables continuous support by the treating psychotherapist.

Can everyone use the MICHI app?
The MICHI app is suitable for children and adolescents from approx. 12 years of age who have been diagnosed with a depressive disorder.

The MICHI app is currently only available as part of a study to examine acceptance and trends in effectiveness. The use of the MICHI app requires continuous support from the treating psychotherapist. Psychotherapists can link themselves to the patient's profile and support them with questions or problems via a chat function integrated in the app. Before using the MICHI app, you should therefore consult the treating psychotherapist *. The study is scientifically carried out by the Clinic for Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy in Children and Adolescents at the Rostock University Medical Center and at the Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Ruppiner Kliniken / Brandenburg Medical School.
