UsMob

This app allows people to send text messages, take and send photos and take and send videos to the closest twenty people with the app. Depending on where you are, those twenty people could be right near you or, if you are in a fairly remote area, they could be many kilometres away.

Steps after installing app:

1. Enter a name you would like to be known by.
2. Enter your email address but this is not mandatory.
3. Press Save Profile

To send a message, photo, streamed video, etc to the closest twenty people who have this app installed:

1. Press the holler button.
2. Press the green tree.
3. Press the amber tree to start up a conversation with people nearby.
4. Or press the red tree if you need to send them urgent information, eg bushfire, robbery, flooded creek, car accident, injured animal, etc.
5. If you want people to see your exact location press the street address radio button.
6. Type a message.
7. Press one of the buttons below your message depending upon what you want to do.
8. Follow the instructions given.

To look at messages you have received.

1. On the main menu press the "'incoming hollers" button.
2. If you have received any messages, photos, streamed video, etc, you should see them there.
3. Press the one of interest.
4. Look at the message and see where it came from in the map.
5a. Press the "view video" button if it is highlighted to view the streamed video.
5b. Press "tell more people", if you think the message is pretty interesting, and it will go to the next twenty people, who haven't already received the message, around you.
5c. Press "reply"' if you want to add something to that conversation.
5d. Press "controls" and you will get a list of options that you can make use of.
6. On the main menu you can also press "toolbox" for a map, compass, etc, or press "facebook" to see Cherbourg Radio's Facebook page.

Notes:

1. When you send a message you will receive a copy of it so you can always check it.

2. Press the back arrow to go back to the previous step. By back arrow I mean that back arrow on the bottom right hand corner of the phone.

3. To let the system know where you are and to receive messages, on the main menu there should be a button that says "listening". If it says "'not listening" then press it and it should then say "listening".

4. You are basically an anonymous user as it's up to you whether you want to register with your real name and your email address.

5. Users can block anyone that annoys them.

6. Users and can report people if those people are saying or doing fairly malicious things. In that case they will be locked out of the system.

All messages, photos, videos, etc, can be seen on the website at http://usmob.org. This is a little rough at the moment but basically functional.
