A routing number is 9 digits number that is issued by American bank of association (ABA) for identify the bank. Routing numbers are used for much purpose like direct deposit, electronics transactions and wire transfers etc. You can transfer funds online by using routing number. If you are doing international transfer of funds, then it takes 2-3 business days for funds to reflect in you account. If you are going to receive payment in your citibank account, then sender must include the aba routing number for new York (021000089) along with aba number for the branch where your account is opened.
