Profari is a modern community that is supposed to offer an alternative to the well-known social media channels. The project is completely free and independent of media, corporations or political institutions. We offer you the same functions that you know from other platforms. Only with huge differences when it comes to data protection and freedom of expression.

The internet was a brilliant invention. And "social media" was also an incredibly interesting and progressive development. However, these inventions have moved in a direction that is counterproductive for our society. We should use the Internet and social media much more to find closer to each other and to be on one level. Instead, the "net" is now being used to divide and incite people more and more. Profari should take a different direction here and make "social media" a solution that connects people.

 
The meaning of the name "Profari"

Profari is Latin and stands for freely speaking, expressing yourself, speaking out. This is exactly what this project is about. The political events of the past years have ensured that users of common communities no longer have the opportunity to freely express their opinions. It's different here. Profari has no politically oriented network filters, no algorithms that affect the visibility of posts and manipulate the opinion of users.

Of course, laws must also be observed here. Profari is not a legal space. However, we want to make sure that there is no senseless or interest-based censorship. It is not deleted here just because the opinion does not please.

Because your data is YOUR data

Here at Profari, users also have the advantage that the project is not monetized by selling user data. Your data in the community will neither be evaluated by us nor passed on to any advertising companies in any way. You are a user and member of a community here, not a product! The project is to be financed through the community and donations, but not through the data of members.
