BARMER eCare

With the BARMER eCare electronic patient file, you have your personal health data at hand at all times. Securely save important documents such as diagnoses, doctor's letters or your medication plan and share them with your doctors if necessary. In this way, your previous treatment history can be optimally taken into account.

- Organize health documents digitally:
Goodbye folders! With eCare, you always have your important documents, such as reports, diagnoses, health passports, dental bonus booklets or doctor's letters, well organized with you.

- Share information with doctors:
Does your doctor need documents from you, e.g. from other practices or hospitals? Simply release them via the app. At your request, the practice can also add new documents to eCare or update existing doctor's documents.

- Practical for (expectant) parents:
Have the maternity card, vaccination card or medical examination booklet for your child created digitally in eCare. And with the pregnancy companion, you can prepare well for the arrival of your offspring.

- Mediplaner:
Keep track of your medication, be reminded of your intake and show your doctors what medication you are already taking. In this way, undesired interactions can be avoided.

- Substitute function:
Would you like to give trusted people access to your electronic patient file? Set them up as a proxy.

- Official system:
As an electronic patient record (ePA), eCare is an official part of the German healthcare system and telematics infrastructure.

- You are in control:
You decide for yourself which medical institutions are allowed to access your data and for what period of time. If you want, for each document individually!

- Safety according to the highest standards:
The eCare were developed and approved according to strict specifications. All data is encrypted and stored on servers in Germany.


Requirements:
You can use BARMER eCare if you are insured with BARMER. In addition to the eCare app, install the BARMER app on your device and create a user account. Then have this verified digitally or in a BARMER branch. This step is important to ensure that only you can set up an eCare on your behalf.
