Rádio Cidade 630 Khz

In 1985, it was created in Campos Sales, the first mass media in the region: Radio Cidade Am de Comunicação, of the Grupo Patriolino Ribeiro, from Fortaleza, was created.

Grupo Patriolino Ribeiro, holder of the Cidade de Comunicação system in Fortaleza, at the time, had radio stations in some municipalities in the interior of Ceará, radios in Fortaleza, in addition to TV Cidade.

In Campos Sales, the Cidade de Comunicação System arrived, thanks to the involvement of the broadcaster, Danúbio José, who encouraged the arrival of this project in the communication area.

It was Danúbio José who intermediated, the purchase of land and other details that enabled the installation of Radio Cidade AM, in this municipality.

Under the direction of the businessman, Miguel Dias, who later received the title of Citizen Campossalense, for the fact of investing in communication in Campos Sales, Radio Cidade was, approximately two to three years later, sold to the doctor, Paulo Ney Martins, who until today is the owner of the channel.

After a month on the air, on an experimental basis, on August 23, 1985, radio Cidade officially began its programming, having as its first employees: Abelardo Martins, Roberto Nunes, Danúbio José, Venuilton Dias, Antônio Francisco (Tony Franco ) and Carlos Alberto, as announcers, in addition to Luís Péricles, as administrative director; Chagas Souza, Jonas and Creuza, as audio operators and as maintenance technician, Elias Cruz.

In addition to all the musical and sports programming, the broadcaster, Carlos Alberto, presented the first journalistic program of the station, with the title: Mágoas do Povo, which was presented every week, at noon.

One of the highlights during the network's trajectory, in its programming schedule, was the program: Forró do Danubão, which mixed the northeastern rhythm with news, in the presentation of Danúbio José.

From August 23, 1985 until today, Cidade AM radio station in Campos Sales has had two frequencies on the dial: first 1480kHz and lastly 630kHz, which was modified under the command of the second owner of the station, doctor Paulo Ney Martins.

Radio Cidade AM de Campos Sales, in these 36 years to be completed on August 23, 2021, has never been down, except for maintenance of its equipment, or for accidents caused by nature, in the case of lightning that, in rainy periods, they reach its tower, which is more than 100 meters high.

After the doctor, Paulo Ney Martins, bought the rights to commercially exploit the broadcaster's concession, he took over and until today, runs the company, the administrative director, Marilene Santiago.

In these 36 years on the air, Cidade AM radio station in Campos Sales has been a reference for credibility in journalism, sports and entertainment, having participated, through the various professionals who have worked for the broadcaster, in the coverage of important social, sporting and political events, throughout the region and municipalities in neighboring states, such as Piauí and Pernambuco, since its range reaches a radius of about 300 square kilometers, due to its low frequency of 630 kHz.

Today, with the change implemented by the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Communications, to end the frequency cycle of Ondas Media, ending the analogue signal in communications, the Cidade AM radio station by Campos Sales, is already in the process of migrating to the use of the Modulated Frequency (FM), which should be implemented soon, following the steps determined by the Ministry of Communications, when it will end its history in AM and will have a new frequency and better sound quality in FM, with digital quality.
