CBCS 2019

The objective of the event is to discuss the main advances and trends in the field of "Soil Science and related areas". As it is a global congress and the most important of its kind in the country, it discusses all relevant issues and main bottlenecks on sustainable land use, from subjects at the frontier of knowledge such as nanotechnology and biotechnology in agriculture, to management practices , soil education and rural extension.

In this 37th edition the CBCS will be held in Cuiabá-MT, recognized as "Agribusiness Capital" and located geographically in the heart of Brazil. The 37th CBCS will be held for the first time in the State of Mato Grosso (MT) and will be part of the commemorative events celebrating 300 years of the capital of MT. The State gathers the three main biomes of the country: Pantanal, Amazon and Cerrado, and stands out as the largest grain producer and livestock production in Brazil.

The 37th CBCS will be promoted by the SBCS Center-West Regional Center (NRCO), with the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT), in partnership with the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), EMBRAPA, IFMT, UNEMAT and other regional institutions research, teaching and extension. The main theme of the event will be "Sustainable intensification in production systems". It is proposed a broad discussion on the central role of soil management practices aimed at ensuring the sustainability of agricultural production, especially in sandy and low-CEC soils, which make up most of the areas under production in the Midwest and new agricultural frontiers of MATOPIBA and SEALBA.

We invite all society involved in the agricultural and livestock production chain to a reflexive debate, exchange of experiences and diffusion of knowledge. Do not forget to take advantage of the natural beauty that Mato Grosso has, such as Chapada dos Guimarães, Pantanal, Parque das Águas Quentes, diving in the crystalline waters of Nobres / Bom Jardim, Lagoa do Manso, bars and rich local cuisine.
