Kitab Al Muwatta Imam Malik

The Muwatta Malik Book - Al-Muwatta, Al-Muwaththa or Muwatta Malik is a book of hadith and fiqh compiled by Imam Malik bin Anas, is one of the Poles of Tis'ah (the nine major books of hadith among Sunnis ).

Imam Malik, namely Abu Abdullah Malik bin Anas bin Malik bin Abu Amir Al-Ashbahi (93 H and -179 H). He lived a lot in Medina. He is a well-known Islamic scholar, and founder of the Maliki school of thought. He is known to have more than a thousand students, among whom the famous is Imam Syafe'i. During his life, Imam Malik constantly updated his Muwaththa Book, so that this book reflected his learning and knowledge for more than forty years. This book contains a thousand traditions.

Imam Malik gave the name of his hadith book al-Muwaththa 'because this book became the talk of Muslims in his day, meaning that the book was made easy to understand and take its usefulness by humans. Imam Malik said: "I showed my book to 70 experts of the jurisprudence of Medina. All of them agreed on it, so I gave it the name al-Muwaththa '." [Tanwir al-Hawalik p. 7, as-Suyuthi]. Kitab al-Muwaththa 'by Imam Malik is a book containing the hadiths of the Prophet sallallahu'alaihi wa sallam, the words (atsar) of the companions, fatawa of the tabi'in.
