BrainSTIM + is a bi-directional transcranial stimulator for the administration of tDCS (Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation), tACS, (Transcranial Alternate Current Stimulation) and tRNS (Transcranial Random Noise Stimulation), rtACS (repetitive transorbital Alternating Current Stimulation).
The "BrainSTIM +" stimulator has been specifically designed to allow easy use both for research purposes and in outpatient or home clinical therapy. In particular, the stimulator can be programmed so as to apply the desired treatment protocol to the patient for a predetermined period and therefore can be granted for use to the patient who cannot modify any of the stimulation parameters. When the treatment protocol is completed, the stimulator will cease to function and will have to be reprogrammed. Upon delivery of the stimulator, the health care worker, equipped with a smartphone on which the "BrainSTIM +" management software has been installed, will be able to view the report of the stimulation sessions actually performed by the patient, to check the patient's effective adherence to the therapeutic protocol. The stimulator can then be reprogrammed and used for a new outpatient or home therapy protocol.
