Rádio Antares - Teresina-PI

Established in August 1985 by the State Government, TVE Piauí begins operating in an experimental phase. The following year, through Decree No. 92,372 of February 6, 1986, it is authorized to operate the local content production service and in 1987 the Piauí Educational Radio and Television Foundation was established and new investments are made in equipment and the training of new professionals in the area of ​​TV and radio. At that time, journalistic and cultural programs are on the air, and several documentaries are produced and displayed nationally.

From July 2003, through Complementary Law No. 030, the Executive Branch establishes the Antares Foundation - Radio and Educational Television of Piauí, and initiates a process of profound changes, in order to make it an agile, dynamic and committed to quality culture, information and entertainment. With significant investments in technology and personnel, it restructures its broadcasters - Rádio Antares AM 800 and TV Antares - and fulfills its mission of offering Piauí society information of public interest and promoting the educational and cultural improvement of viewers and listeners, aiming at the qualitative transformation of society.

Since then, much has already been done to strengthen the public broadcasters in Piauí, which have been monitoring the strategies and investments on a single public communication project for the country. What is more, we are firmly convinced that TV and Radio Antares have never walked so close to the principles of citizenship and have never come so close to the population, contributing to the social inclusion and democratization of communication. A new scenario that is blurred, changing the direction of history and pointing to a definitive horizon of consolidation of TV and Radio Antares.
