Karvonen Method
Method for determining the boundaries of heart rate. It is used to determine the optimal range (target zone) of the heart rate during sports.
The boundaries of the range are approximately between the value of the pulse in a calm state and in the state of MCHSS (maximum heart rate).
The target zone of heartbeats is in the range from 50% to 95% of the value of the heart rate and is selected depending on the individual differences in the physical condition of the person.
VO2 max characterizes the ability of the runner's body to absorb and absorb oxygen.
This indicator is fundamental in sports medicine. With its help, the athlete's abilities and prospects of his progress are evaluated.
