David Martin was a pastor and theologian born in Revel. He made studies Theology, Philosophy, History and oriental languages ​​(Hebrew in particular). After the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, he had to go into exile. As a Protestant, he was chased and he had to go to Holland, where he began writing books of science and theology.
