Komen Italia

Susan G. Komen Italia is an organization based on volunteering, at the forefront of the fight against breast cancer, throughout the national territory.
He was born in 2000 in Rome as the first European resident of Susan G. Komen of Dallas under the guidance of Prof. Riccardo Masetti, current President.

The objectives:
Invest in training, research and stimulate innovation in terms of women's health.
Promote prevention and adoption of healthy lifestyles.
Protect the right to excellent care for every woman with breast cancer.
Offer services to improve quality of life after cancer, particularly for women with metastatic disease.
Collaborate with other Associations and finance projects on the national territory.
The economic resources from private donations, companies and institutions have allowed us to invest 17 million euros for the realization of 850 new projects to promote prevention and support for women operated, made throughout Italy by other Associations and by Komen Italy.
Today Komen Italia is present in 6 Italian regions (Lazio, Puglia, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Abruzzo and Basilicata) and operates in collaboration with a vast network of "friendly" associations in over 100 cities throughout Italy. A network of numerous volunteers and testimonials support us with commitment and passion, including Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Rosanna Banfi godmothers of the Race for the Cure and Women in Pink.
The Race for the Cure is the largest event for the fight against breast cancer in Italy and in the world. Every year, more than 100 thousand people participate in the editions of Rome, Bari, Bologna and Brescia. In 2019 the Race for the Cure will also take place in Pescara and Matera, the European Capital of Culture 2019. The protagonists of the Race are the Women in Pink, women who are confronted with breast cancer and to whom an exclusive area is dedicated meet and share emotions and experiences.
