Anto Sugiartono (10 April 1950 – 9 March 2012), known by his stage name Manthous, was an Indonesian singer-songwriter, artist and musician. He is considered the creator of the popular Javanese music genre known as campursari. Experience in Jakarta with B. J. Soepardi, Benjamin Sueb, Idris Sardi, Bing Slamet, the Jaya Quartet Group, and others. He then founded the Maju Lancar Campursari Group in Gunungkidul.

Manthous was born in Playen Village, Gunung Kidul, in 1950. In 1966, when he was 16 years old, Manthous ventured to Jakarta. Of course, with a junior high education background, his main choice is to live busking, which he considers to represent his talent.

In 1969, he joined the Keroncong Bintang Jakarta Orchestra led by B. J. Soepardi as a plucked cello player. But then, in 1976, Manthous, who is also good at playing bass, founded the band Bieb Blues with funky rock characteristics together with Bieb, son of Benjamin Sueb. Bieb Blues lasted until 1980. He was the recorder for Musica Studio. Later, Manthous joined Idris Sardi, in the Gambang Kromong Benjamin Sueb group. In addition, previously he had also been an accompaniment of Bing Slamet when performing comedy in the Jaya Quartet Group. In 1990, he became acquainted with A. Riyanto, who has a studio in Cepete, and often makes recordings at this studio.

It seems that all of these experiences are what make Manthous a master of any genre of music. In the dangdut treasures, in fact, he is also a role model for being able to create bass playing tricks, which are then imitated by today's dangdut bass players.

In 1993, Manthous founded the Gunung Kidul Maju Lancar Campursari Music Group. His work displays the uniqueness of campursari with existing Javanese styles. There are colors rock, reggae, xylophone kromong, and others. There are also pure Javanese songs such as Kutut Manggung, or Bowo Asmorondono, with gamelan colored keyboards and bass guitar. Together with the music group that was founded in 1993 and consists of relatives or colleagues from the area in Playen, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta.

Besides singing himself in the recording, Manthous also performed the voices of singers Sulasmi from Sragen, Minul from Gunungkidul, and Sunyahni from Karanganyar. Some of his popular songs include Earrings, Nyidamsari, Gandrung, and Kutut Manggung. However, his masterpiece, which is widely known by Indonesians, is Getuk, which was first popularized by Nurafni Octavia.
