iFlora - Flora von Deutschland

iFlora is a DESTINATION APP FOR PLANTS that covers the entire flora of Germany. iFlora can be used by nature lovers as well as professional botanists.

The INNOVATIVE DETERMINATION CONCEPT allows you to identify many plants by indicating fewer traits. For problematic plant groups, which can not be easily determined by species, clear illustrations, distribution maps and other information will help.

DETERMINE PLANTS
Our innovative concept allows you to determine many species in just a few steps. For example, iFlora would be the cheapest way to answer only three questions to safely determine the European yew (Taxus baccata) - with a conventional identification key of up to 13. You do not need special expertise because all the features are descriptive icons as well also be described on understandable texts.
The plant species in iFlora are characterized by more than 200 traits that cover all organs relevant for the determination: flower, fruit, leaf and stems. However, you do not have to know all these features, as iFlora will give you specific suggestions as to which trait to specify next to determine your plant as quickly and safely as possible while deciding on a plant.


PICTURES and PHOTOS
The result of the determination can be verified by means of scientific drawings, historical illustrations and photos. In total, more than 12,000 images and photos can be used with iFlora.


SPECIES
Detailed descriptions of the species help to distinguish closely related or similar species. The texts describe in particular the most important plant characteristics (differential characteristics). These descriptions are for selected groups and should be added gradually.


DISTRIBUTION CARD
An important aid in the determination are also the distribution maps created especially for iFlora, which are based on data from the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. With the help of these maps, you can see which species occur in the vicinity of the locality.
