Syllables are the set of sounds that are pronounced in a single voice emission. In Spanish, the syllable can be from one letter to five letters, but in all cases it must have at least one vowel.

A word can be made up of a single syllable, for example "today", or by several syllables. For example: es - truc - tu - ra.

Words can be classified according to their number of syllables:

Examples of words with simple syllables
Simple or direct syllables are those that have a single sound vowel. In other words, the syllables "que" "qui" "gui" and "gue" are also simple syllables. On the other hand, the letter che also forms a single sound, so "che" and "chi" are simple syllables. The same happens with the "ll" and the "rr".
